Editorial policy
Who writes this, how automation is used, and what we will not publish.
Authorship
Pages are written and reviewed by the OpenStep editorial team and attributed to the team, not to an invented individual clinician. Where a page has not been reviewed, it is not published — there is no state in which unreviewed material about a mental health condition appears on this site.
Use of automation
Drafting assistance is used the way a research assistant would be: to gather and structure material. Every clinical statement is checked against the sources before publication. Translations into Russian and Spanish are reviewed for meaning, not just for wording, because a mistranslated safety instruction is a safety problem.
What we will not publish
- Diagnoses, or checklists presented as diagnostic.
- Treatment advice that belongs to a prescriber.
- Fabricated authors, credentials or review dates.
- Location pages generated to capture search traffic.
- Before-and-after claims or recovery timelines presented as typical.
Commercial relationship
This site is published by the makers of the OpenStep app and links to it. The material here is complete on its own; the app is offered for what it adds — structure and daily practice — not as a condition of reading.
Who publishes this
OpenStep is made by a small independent team that also publishes Identify Insect Bite, a free reference on identifying insect bites and stings, and the app that goes with it. Different subject, same approach: the reference material is free, the sources are named, and automated pages are labelled as such.
