Methodology
Where our material comes from, who reviews it, and what we deliberately do not do.
What this site is
Plain-language material about OCD and exposure and response prevention, written by the OpenStep editorial team and reviewed before publication. Currently 4 topics are published; 30 more are in preparation and are not published as placeholders.
How a page is made
- A topic is chosen from what people actually search for.
- A draft is written against published clinical guidance (see sources).
- Every clinical statement is checked against those sources.
- The page is marked reviewed in the source data. Pages without that flag are not built into the site at all.
- All three language versions ship together. Our build fails if a topic is missing Russian or Spanish — we do not publish an English-only page and translate it later.
What we do not do
- We do not generate pages for cities or regions. "OCD in [city]" pages carry no information and exist only to catch search traffic.
- We do not diagnose. Nothing here can tell you whether you have OCD.
- We do not invent authors or review dates.
- We do not gate the material. Everything on these pages is readable without an account; the app is for daily practice, not for access.
Limits
This is orientation, not treatment. It cannot account for your history, other conditions, or medication. Severe symptoms, depression, or thoughts of self-harm need a clinician, and this material is not a substitute for one.
