OCD · anxiety · panic

The loop keeps its promises.
It never keeps you.

Checking, washing, replaying, bracing for the next wave — it works for a minute, then asks for more. OpenStep loosens the grip gradually, one small daily step at a time.

This page explains the loop. The app walks you out of it — your triggers, your ladder, one step a day, and a quiet check-in that keeps you going.

If any of this sounds familiar, you're in the right place

“I know the door is locked. I go back anyway.”
“The thought is horrible and I can't prove I don't mean it.”
“I've stopped going places in case it happens there again.”

Start with the part you recognise

Tick what happens in your day. It takes under a minute, it's anonymous, and nothing you tick leaves this page — you'll get the first rungs of a plan built from what you picked.

Why small steps work

Rituals bring relief for a moment — and teach the fear to come back stronger. Facing a trigger gradually while letting the ritual go gives your brain the chance to learn that anxiety fades on its own.

That's exposure and response prevention. OpenStep turns it into a daily practice small enough to keep. What it does not do is promise you a timeline: how long it takes is not something a page can know about you.
